This research project aims to optimize the cost, reliability and efficiency of a sensorless multiphase electric drivetrain that is suitable for submersible pumping systems under harsh operating conditions. The high reliability is crucial for submersible pumping applications in developing countries, because of extreme ambient temperatures and lack of spare parts for repair.
