Pro-RUWA 2.0 PhD Scholarships | Benin, Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali

The African Excellence capacity-building and research network Promoting Academic Capacities for Sustainable Agricultural Resources Use in West Africa (Pro-RUWA) is once again offering PhD scholarships.

Pro-RUWA is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) and monitored by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

 

About Pro-RUWA 2.0

Pro-RUWA 2.0 aims to train a new generation of excellent, regionally and internationally educated young scientists, entrepreneurs and administrators. Future decision-makers in francophone West Africa will be equipped to jointly address key challenges related to resource overuse, climate change and food insecurity at national and regional levels.

To achieve this, Pro-RUWA 2.0 promotes:

  • university education and capacity building;
  • international academic cooperation;
  • regional development; and
  • operational links between the academic, public and private sectors.

Pro-RUWA 2.0 builds on established structures and academic training processes involving four universities in West Africa and the University of Kassel in Germany:

  • University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC) – Benin
  • Abdou Moumouni University (UAM) – Niger
  • Université Daniel-Ouezzin Coulibaly (UDOC) – Burkina Faso
  • Institut Polytechnique Rural de Formation et de Recherche Appliquée (IPR/IFRA) – Mali
  • University of Kassel – Germany

 

PhD Scholarship Opportunity

Within the framework of its Graduate School of Resources Management, Climate Change and Food Security, the Pro-RUWA network invites students from francophone West African countries who have documented proficiency in English to apply for a PhD scholarship at one of the Pro-RUWA partner universities.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to carefully review the conditions and eligibility criteria provided in the official Call for Applications. Please apply only if your academic background and professional experience are thematically aligned with the programme.
