L'Histoire de Souleymane - film screening + debate

14-05-2025

The movie follows Souleymane, a young man who escaped violence in Guinea, as he attempts to navigate life as an undocumented migrant in France.

Between precarious food deliveries, homelessness, and the anxiety of preparing for a make-or-break asylum interview, the movie explores survival and dignity under restrictive migration frameworks.

After the screening, we'll be hosting a short debate with the Ghent University and CESSMIR, the university's Centre for the Social Study of Migration and Refugees.

Together, we'll reflect on Souleymane's story and discuss the realities of undocumented people in Europe.

  • Studio Skoop, Ghent, Belgium
  • 14 May, 7 pm

  • Light refreshments (drink and snacks) will be served after the screening
