WEBINAR 'Impact of COVID on SRHR in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa'

June 21st, 2022
10-11am CET/11am-12pm EAT

Containing the COVID-19 pandemic has been the main focus of health policies worldwide over the last two years. This crisis not only overstretched the health system but it also shifted financial and human resources. Additionally the COVID-19 restriction measures seemed to have a great impact on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). All of this led to a reduction in capacity to provide sexual and reproductive health services. Several members of the 'Academic Network on SRHR Policy' (ANSER) conducted research on the impact of COVID-19 restriction measures on SRHR and found interesting results that will be shared during this webinar.

The webinar will be moderated by Dr. Joyce Omwoha (Technical University of Kenya) and presented by Dr. Simukai Shamu (Foundation for Professional Development, South Africa).

It includes scientific evidence from studies from the Technical University of Kenya, Foundation for Population Development, University of the Western Cape, University of Nairobi, University of Cape Town, Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp, Mbarara University of Science and Technology and Ghent University.
