CATTLEFRONTIERS Lecture Series “Livestock Histories: Regional and Global Perspectives"

With this online lecture series, the ERC project CATTLEFRONTIERS brings together historians and anthropologists working on the history of livestock from regional, (trans)imperial and global perspectives. Focusing on different species, from Andean Alpacas and different types of cattle to Breton pigs and ubiquitous mules and donkeys, the lectures will tease out human-animal interactions, commodification processes as well as regional and global trades with livestock and livestock commodities.

This lecture series starts on 7 October 2025 and runs till 9 December 2025.
